Let me introduce myself. My name is Ticy Cherall and I am also known as the “ButterflyyQueen” and also “Social Butterflyy”. I am a disabled 41-year young woman who lives a life that I don’t think any “normal” person could live.
Now when it comes to my weight loss I will say this you have to be truly “dedicated” and have “determination” for this to work. I didn’t follow any kind of diet plan because I don’t believe in dieting I didn’t take any kind of dieting pills or anything of that nature. Almost two years ago the doctors told me I had right side heart failure and if I didn’t change my life and lose weight it could get worse and eventually kill me. So, I decided to change “everything” about my life from where I was living to how I eat.
Now, I am not gonna lie it was hard to stop eating certain things but in the midst of this journey I found out I am going to become a grandmother and that just gave me even more motivation to live longer.
I am a disabled woman and I don’t get much of an income or assistance from the state, but I do what I can how I can with what I have. Below is what I have done over the last year to go from weighing over 300lbs to now weighing 189lbs. My weight does fluctuate but I am maintaining my average size of about 200lbs. I have several illnesses and autoimmune diseases that prevent me from staying at what I would consider being a “normal” weight. My goal, however, is to weigh around 160-165lbs. I want to lose weight enough to have my BMI in a healthy range, but I also still want to be a lil thick ya know! Lol
I have been fighting with weight loss for all of my life but recently things took a turn for the worse back in 2012 when I had my eye surgery and was put on steroids of 50mg for 2 weeks and I couldn’t do anything but lay around and allow my face to heal.
Below is what I did to change my life after being told that I was heading down a path of death with my heart. The doctor’s put me on a medication called Lasix to help me get rid of a lot of the fluid that was causing me to be bloated and develop fluid and fat around my heart. Lasix is a diuretic that helps you to release fluid through your urine. I was taking this as directed for the first year (2017) of my weight loss journey when I started to take life and my health more seriously. I sometimes would forget to take it of course (I’m human) and I was also drinking 4 (16 oz) bottles of water a day which is equivalent to 8 glasses of water at 8ounces each. In one of those four bottles of water, I would put two tablespoons of apple cider vinegar. This is, of course, another diuretic as well, it does the same thing that Lasix does but for me I find that it works faster and of course ACV helps you to lose weight in the process of getting rid of access fluid that has built up within your system from eating to much salt to taking certain medications that can cause fluid build up as well.
This is where determination and dedication come into play. One must have discipline when it comes to losing weight and taking the requisite things to help in this (at least for me). Now I have to admit that I did indeed follow a way of life that I read about by a man named Robert Ferguson and he talks a lot about eating what you want to eat in a proportional aspect. As long as you are eating things in a certain way and you have portion control you can eat great and still lose weight and be healthy. I will have links to his site and some videos below. Watching his videos has taught me how to portion out my food when I am eating, and this allows me to have other things that most say we can’t have when losing weight which is so not true.
I have to honestly say that at the end of the day it all comes to these following things determination, dedication, discipline, and the hunger to want to be healthy and live a long life with family and friends. It comes down to how you see yourself and what you want for yourself within a healthy range. I can’t even sit here and tell you that I don’t eat carbs, sweets, or whatever else “they” tell you that you can’t have. I eat what I want and I am still losing weight and maintaining a quality diet or a new way of life.
For me, that meant cutting out almost all red meat. I don’t eat pork and I barely do beef. I mostly take part in eating fish, chicken, and shrimp. Some would call me a vegetarian but at the same time, I wouldn’t because of some of the autoimmune diseases I have I do indeed partake in a steak or some stew meat from time to time for metabolism purposes.
Following this blog, I will start to post some of the meals I cook for myself to eat is that I live alone I do a lot of slow cooker meals, homemade pasta’s (the quick way) and salads as well. I am the only one who eats healthy in my home. My son doesn’t live with me, but he does come over to eat from time to time and well when my fiancé is in from work he is still a big beef and pork eater. It was indeed hard to maintain a healthy eating habit due to the fact that my fiancé loves his sweets and his favorite snack is nutty buddy’s lucky for him I don’t even eat those. I have never been one that was big on candy. Then having acid reflux and no gallbladder helps a lot when it comes to the junk food that I love like soda’s and chocolate, but I can’t have it due to the fact that it affects my acid reflux.
My weight loss journey isn’t like most people due to the illnesses that I have. When you reach a certain age and your body starts to change. You have to “listen” to your body. When you listen to your body and learn how not to push it past its means and get the appropriate amount of rest, drink the appropriate amount of water, take a multivitamin and just maintain healthy eating and workout at least 30 minutes three days a week.
Now working out can consist of many things from dancing, to yoga. I prefer dancing and of course, working out in my home with YouTube videos from Leslie Sansone walk at home DVDs. My favorite thing is to dance around my house like no one is watching and sing out loud when no one can hear me…
Please take the time to like comment and share this blog and most of all subscribe for the future blog post. I will start posting more about my weight loss and how I eat and of course certain meals I prepare and how I am choosing to tone up my body as of right now.
I have started a new journey, or should I say add a new product to my journey to help me tone up and remain focused, but I am not ready to share this 100%. I want anyone reading this to know and understand that I lost my weight on my own without the help of anything but what is mentioned in this blog.
